Mathamatics of input and output of calories

As discussed in last post,

Gain or loss of weight depends on the result of calorie balance our body is in. If we have more calories than body utilises we end up gaining weight but if calorie intake is less than what body uses we end up using some of stored calories and loss of weight results. Now question is how do we maintain this negative calorie balance ?

This can be achieved by two methods:

1. Decrease the calorie intake to less than what body needs, so that body is forced to utilise its reserve .

2. To make body burn more calories so that more calories are used and body goes in neagtive calorie balance.

Best method to lose weight is to combine both of above steps, how, which i will elaborate more in next post.

Fundamentals of weightloss

To most of us losing weight is a very complex issue, which makes no sense most of time. But losing weight is not such a complex issue , it is simple mathamatics. Food we eat is converted into calories. Calories are used by the body to meet its energy requirement. After the body uses calories , to meet its energy requirement, if surplus calories are left they are converted into fat and stored in body for future use and body ends up gaining weight. On the other hand if body falls short of calories to meet its energy requirement, it will compensate by converting some of stored fat into calories and thus body ends up losing some weight.

Thus gaining or losing weight simply depends upon difference between the input and output of calories by body. If input is more than output , body stores excess calories as fat and end up gaining weight . If input is less then output , body uses some some of calories stored as fat in body to meet total calories requirement and end up losing some weight. Simple isnt it.
